!!!Need suggestion!!! Should I email back to solve the interview problem?

Hi,

I was interviewing for a quant position.

I got stuck in a mathematical problem in the interview, was quite unhappy about this (I think the interviewer was unhappy too), so gave the problem a bit more thought on my way home and found the solution.

Can anyone give me any suggestion as to whether I should email back my solution to the interviewer? Will it do good or harm?

Btw, I don't even know his email address so I will have to ask the HR to forward the email...
