As you know, NYC recently post a salary transparency law requiring employers to post salary range for job posting.
So now if you check the jobs on LinkedIn or company website you will see the base salary range.

Now, quants in NYC: do you think those job posting matching the actual market range?

(I think this discussion will help those new graduates or who want to change jobs to have a better reference for compensation bargain)

the base is matching the actual market range, but it's not the best indication of total compensation since sign on and end of year bonuses are a huge part and does not need to be disclosed

Even at a new grad level, most if not all the offers I saw on the buy side had bonus + sign on >= base (even sometimes for software engineers)
