NYU MSMF NYU Mathematics in Finance Admission Results

I think the last batch of ADs will be sent out on the following Monday, as I know this Sunday is the response deadline for those who got accepted on Mar 14th. But not sure how many more will be sent. Good luck everyone.

I don't believe there will be a last batch of ADs... If you look at the tracker and specifically at last year's cohort (i.e. 2010-2011 applications), you'll notice that no more ADs were sent after Mid-April and that the bulk of rejects came in late April (specifically from 25 to 27 April).

I think my expectations are accurate because this year the Adcom is proceeding at a similar pace (when comparing this year to the one before).

For all of you that are still waiting, I hope my forecast is wrong and wish you the best of luck!

The admission office's reply in email:
"We have no decision for you from the Admissions Committee at this moment. The Admission Committee is still in a process of reviewing and evaluating applications. We are hoping to notify all applicants about Committee's decision approximately within two weeks from today. "
I can expect another rejection in two weeks now...

From 2010-2011 data, half of admitted students reported on quantnet or several other forums. There have been 13 on quantnet and 14 on chasedream.com by far. Considering duplicate reports, we can reasonably estimate the number of admissions would be more than 20. If we again assume that still half of admitted students report online as last year, the total number of admissions sent out has reached 40. So for NYU now, no news=rejections. just a hurdle.

Oh sorry the ddl is May 17th... she was too excited to mistake it for April 17th:confused:

I got waitlisted yesterday. They said that there are only a handful of applicants on the waitlist but chances are very low and I shouldn't hold my breath...

Hi, did you get a notice that you are waitlisted? Because I haven't heard any word from NYU, so does that mean I am rejected, without even being on the waitlist? Thx~

Haha yeah. I was choosing between NYU msmf and Stanford stat, not Columbia msfe.:)

I did not get any result from NYU msmf!

No admission, No rejection, No waitlist!!

I sent at least 5 emails to ask for result in the last 2 months. Every time I got the exactly same email (as following).

I am really confused. What does this mean? What should I do?

Thank you very much!

Dear XXX,

Thank you for your email. Your New York University Department of Mathematics MS in Mathematics in Finance application is complete. We receive so many applications that it takes some time to make final decisions. Since you have been accepted by another program and need to hear from us, the admissions committee will try to review and evaluate your application before your other deadlines. We understand you may be faced with many choices and are eager to receive your decision from NYU. However, we cannot guarantee a date by which your application will be reviewed and a decision made. You will be notified when a decision has been made.

Best Wishes,
Math Administrator
