Maybe check out the faculty in each of the programs?

It makes a huge difference.

I agree the choice between the two is less obvious than it once was. . .if you’re thinking buy side, worth noting Petter K came up through the buyside. Not sure how much influence that has had over the program though.

I would more heavily weight expectation of future comp than tuition fwiw. Name, network, career services matters a lot for your first gig. NYU Courant definitely has the daaaaaaamn factor. But that stuff does change over time.

Can you please clarify what you are after? ApolloChariot seems to think you wish to compare the programs relative standing as of several years ago. As the former director of the Courant MF program and the current department chair of the Tandon program, I can speak to the programs current relative strengths, if that is your interest.
Can you tell me which is best for a master's in CS and which one provides best Job opportunities? NYU Tandon or NYU Courant ??

Hi guys,
I'm here again. The courses between NYU Tandon MFE and NYU MSMF are also very similar, and the career path is the same. So which one would be better if you want to work in front-office positions in the financial industry? Please show the pros and cons as well. Thank you so much!

Take a look at the reviews for each program under the resources section if you haven't already, there is some good info there

I'll prefer MSMF, simply due to a more selective batch, more rigorous course structure and professors. However it doesn't really matter as NYU Tandon students are allowed to take courses from NYU MSMF. So you can get exposure to the MSMF professors regardless

Hi,

I am a 2nd Year UCL / LSE / Warwick economics student, looking to get into the buy side, specifically macro HFs in the US. Based off of the following attributes, could people provide some advice on which of the two courses above should I apply for, assuming for, adjusting for likelihood of getting in + exits provided by the programme.

- 4.0 GPA across 1st and 2nd Years
- Strong scores in Linear Algebra and Econometrics modules
- Summer internships within M&A at a MM boutique, and S&T at GS / JP / MS
- basic programming knowledge across python and R

Thanks
