Other Career Opportunities For Quants Besides The Stock Market?

I'm new to the world of Quantitative Finance and would like to know, do all Quants necessarily work on Wall Street or in London?

What other career opportunities does a graduate from a Financial Engineering/Finance program have other than the stock market? Could one be useful, say, in the Finance department of large companies? What kind of salaries would these jobs offer in comparison to the various vocations on Wall Street?

Thank you.

Could expertise in Quantitative Finance be useful to private companies?

Thanks for your reply.

Just keep in mind that QF skills are very niche and unless you equip yourself with some other useful skills (programming/database analysis/stats) in addition to the QF curriculum, it rests on you to demonstrate to potential employers why your skills are transferable.
It's a good idea to dress yourself as a tech guy instead of a finance guy these days.

Power trading at a large utility or E&P. The stock market is a very small portion of the world of finance.
