Hi all,
I have been a quant in a new model validation setup for not a lot of time, in a pretty great bank. I have noticed that there is disparity among people with the same amount of experience. Some friends who I completed my Bachelors with, who went on to do an MBA hold a higher position than me, who did a masters in quant, specialized.
Is this common practice, and does it hold me back in my career growth? I am treated exactly the same as an undergraduate. I have also been told that there is no way there career path and mine can converge if our performance is comparable. Despite being told that my rating has been extremely strong, they said that doesn't guarantee anything. What to do?
