PhD and part-time jobs

Hello everyone! This is my first post on QuantNet and would love to see the responses to my question and help provided by the community here.

I was curious if there are firms or banks who hire part-time employees who are pursuing PhD on the side. Is it possible considering the limitation of part-time job and if so, how common is it? Moreover, I was wondering if there are MFE or quant masters program that are on-track to PhD programs?

Ideally your studies are too rigorous to warrant a serious part time job.

Columbia and Princeton's programs are meant to be pre-PhD
