Hi ..

I have applied for the PhD Mathematical Finance at BU and was wondering if someone around here has too ..

I want to apply for the PhD Mathematical Finance at BU next year
i am applying without a masters degree and wanted to check my chances..

could you share your profile nalibh .. Wil help in gauging the applicant pool

You have chances to be accepted.
BUT: in our cohort only 2 people had MSc in Math Finance before have survived as PhD students))

thanks umnik .. I know i will give my best to survive once I am there (and hope i would :) ).. its just about reaching that point .. if not a problem could you just let me know if my profile is decent enough to get me through..

Engineering in Production and Industrial from a top Indian college (Delhi College of Engineering .. dont know if anyone knows about it there)
Nearly 4 years of work experience in quantitative finance .. Have worked on derivative pricing, VAR computations for derivative portfolios, developing trading ideas, projects involving statistical concepts such as cointegration for trading ideas .. exposure on volatility concepts .. currently studying about local and stochastic vol .. etc etc

FRM level 1 qualified (1st Quartile in all four sections)
I have good work experience in VBA for developing these pricing models, trading models .. a little acquainted to SQL

the one thing I am very much nervous about is my GRE score of 310 (164 Q) ..

Could you please give me your views about my profile .

Thanks in anticipation .. Greatly appreciate your help

GRE is OK
Job experience is your sort of strong point (but I do not know what is your theoretical knowledge amount)
Did you pass GRE subject?
Education... I know that people accepted with only one undergrad before had degrees in Math or double majors like (math/econ, comp science/finance etc.) from very well known universities - others had MSc (either in Math Fin or from something else, but in the US - or both). What's your place international ranking?

actually i am counting on my work experience to cover up for masters .. I havent given subject GRE since it wsnt compulsory ... though in terms of math check list that was required to be submitted i was checking on all points ..

any idea around what time do they start sending out results ?
