Hi,
I am new to this forum. I am from India. I have finished my B.Sc Hons. in Math and Physics(3 years). I am planning to do masters in statistics (2 years), then apply for masters in financial engineering in USA. Most US universities don't accept students with 3 year degrees, so I am planning to do a masters. My questions are following:
1. Does having masters in statistics undermine my chances for getting into finance programmes ?

2. Is second masters common ?

It's common for people to get a second master's degree. I have a few coworkers with 3 master's degrees and one good friend who attended four master's degree programs. They have had different paths. Only suggestion here is know what you want and what is needed.
