Hello Guys,
can you please evaluate my profile for NYU mathematics in finance program :

- Undergraduate : B Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (GPA 7/10)
- Math grades not good in undergraduate courses
- 6 years of work exp. in Investment and risk management ( currently in Research in a Bank ) - highly quantitative work
- GRE - Quant - 770, Verbal - 440
- COURSES / CERTIFICATIONS
• Passed CFA Level I (Jan 2011)
• Differential Equations – Score: A grade - Netmath, UIUC (Sept 2010)
C++ for Financial Engineering – University of California, Berkeley (Feb - Mar 2010)

Thank you for your time.

Not good enough. 770 Q is unacceptable for top school because it's not hard and majority of applicants score 800. Your "not good" math grades are not helping either.
You can play to your work experience, get extremely strong letter of reco and write impressive essay. If you are in NYC, you can apply part-time there.

Thanks Andy.

I am not in NYC. Can you provide any other advice on improving my chances ?

Dear Aiflin,

In order to have a better idea of the strengh of you application, maybe what you can do is compare yours to the other applicants one from IIT.

My 2 cents ;)

Wish you the best,

Paul
