How much can this MOOC be of interest? Take a look at the course topics. The syllabus seems interesting, but they "won't assume more than a beginner's programming experience", so I guess they will go easy on the programming side of it.

It looks interesting. It is 'methods' (recipe?) which is a good starting point.

edit: would be interested in the attention to software as a design discipline, seeing the course is from academia.
