Educational Background
Core(Civil, Mech, Chem etc.) Engineering Degree from 3rd Gen Newer IITs (India)-Indian Institute of Technology (Tirupati, Palakkad, Dharwad, Jammu, Bhilai , Goa)
GPA 8.8+/10~ 3.5-3.6/4
Completed curriculum courses such Calculus, Linear Algebra & Differential Equations, Economics, Probability & Statistics, programming fundamentals etc.
Have held numerous leadership positions in College.
Standardized Exams:
GRE-330 (170Q, 160V)
TOEFL- Results Awaited
Internship/Work Experience:
Have been working at a Indian Domestic bank in Global Markets Division (Product Analyst earlier & now as a FX Swaps & IR Trader) since 3+years.
Currently preparing for FRM L1 attempt
Planned Courses:
QuantNet C++ Course
I aim to get an admit from a Top-tier MFE (Top 10 in US) program.
Had some questions in mind, listing them below-
1) After graduating from MFE, I aspire to work in Quant Research/Portfolio Management roles. How can I improve my profile for admissions given my current standing?
2) In terms of transferability of skills, wanted to know the range of skillset which can be leveraged using a MFE degree, i.e. Can they work as Dev/Data-Science related roles in tech/financial institutions, given the AI boom. Can someone please shed a light on this?
3) Given the current geo-political situation, can someone guide if its practical to pursue admissions for Fall2026 or wait for 2027 cycle.
Thanks in advance for the feedback & answers! @Andy Nguyen / Community.
