Python and Machine Learning Course

Hi all,

As said by many, online certifications and MOOCs don't add much weight-age to the application. Could anybody tell if Baruch College's pre-requisite course: Python for Finance and Machine Learning Nanodegree program on Udacity counts in the application?

What's the MOOC syllabus like?

IMO learning Python and ML in one course is not optimal in general. I would split them up.

@Daniel Duffy No, I'm not talking about the course which includes both ML and Python. Udacity is a platform which provides nano-degrees in various data science topics. ML is one of them. I'm planning to take that ML nano degree from Udacity platform. And for python, I'm planning to take Baruch's one of the pre-MFE course named Python for Finance.

So, my query is, completing ML and python from these above sources counts or not. Because earlier, I was thinking to complete them either from Coursera or Edx.

Completing the nano-degree for ML is a solid set of courses for you app, I know some programs specifically ask that you complete the nano-degree before entering the program.

FWIW the pre-MFE Python course offered by ScriptUni in conjunction with Baruch was excellent.

Just another suggestion, I think Dr. E.P. Chan's course on Machine Learning for Trading is awesome. It covered all the major concepts. You can find the course on a platform called Quantra.
