Hi,

I did a chemical engineering degree, and have been working as an oracle database administrator for 4 years now.
Was wondering if I did a financial engineering MSc will I be able to become a quant?
It appears that PHD's are preferred.

Any contribution will be most welcome,

Thanks,
Sophie

Sir Connor may be able to provide you more information, but I believe it would be folly for any corporation to simply overlook anyone due to paperwork. If even an undergrad applied for a position and showed he was willing enough to want to do this (self-taught in C++, read up on his finance independently), I'd be willing to put in a good word for him. Now clearly, I'm no HR director. I'm a university student, but I believe with all of the talent out there, nobody should be overlooked. The fire of ambition can be a very powerful thing IMO.
