Hi,

I have a few friends who apply for master degrees of computer science, software engineering and other related areas. Usually their schools don't do any interviews with their applicants. Obviously, in the quant programs, I can see lots of discussion about the interview experience and preparation.

I wonder is there any quant program that doesn't require an interview. Is it because most of the program are hosted under business schools so that they adopt such tradition? And for most of the programs, how many interviews usually they perform? ( I know I can go through the whole forum and find out about it, but I would like to get some idea quickly. Thanks)

One notable example: NYU Math Fin does not interview applicants. It has to do more with the available resources and less with tradition.
As programs try to streamline their admission process and make it more professional, more will do interview. It will be just like MBA programs.
Quickest way to find this out is to go to the Tracker and filter by each program of your interest. There is an Interview date column which will show you which programs do/do not interview.
