Hi all!

I got my GRE math sub score yesterday, and the percentile is 73%, which is not very impressive indeed. Should I order this test score, especially for Columbia MSOR program? It says in the application system this test is recommended to report. Well, I kind of doubt this score could enhance my chance of admission now... coz I was worrying about me being regarded as a moron in math after the Admission Committees saw my score... Should I report this score? Could you guys give me some advice? Thanks a lot!

Generally, a score above 75% is considered good for non-math majors. If you are a math major, you are expected to do much better than that.

Thanks for your answer Andy! I am not a math major... (and it was killing me to learn abstract algebra...) So I assume I could still report this score to Columbia, since I am not a math major and also I am not applying to a math program?

I'm not saying you should. I state the number where it is considered by admission people as good subject score. You can report them to show your initiative to go the extra mile but I do not know if it will do good or bad for your admission chance.

Oh I am sorry for my expression... Yes I agree with you. Thanks again for your replies Andy!
