Retaking Math Courses

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to change careers and apply to MFE and other quantitative programs (my background is in computer science and economics).
I am prepared to retake math courses I took over 10 years ago.
I haven't taken Real Analysis, Numerical Analysis, etc. So I probably will have to take those as well.
Digging up these grades was quite traumatizing. I was a real slacker/ underachiever in undergrad.

Intro to Linear Algebra: B+
Calculus 1: C+
Calculus 2: B
Multivariable Calculus: B
Elementary Differential Equations: B+
Partial Differential Equations: B+

The cost of taking these courses with Real Analysis/Numerical Analysis would probably be more than $12,000.
Would it be best to retake all these courses? Since math is the foundation of any quantitative study, I figured anything below an A would need to be retaken.
I could be wrong, which is why I am eager to receive any guidance from people here. Thank you!

I would recommend buying refresher books instead of retaking courses. You may be rusty but it should come back ok, just work through enough problems and you'll get the hang of it for those courses. I'm about to study (next semester, probably) Real Analysis, ODE/PDE and possibly Numerical Analysis, so I could help you study if you want.

We have a study group, you can try to find people on the discord serve too. Right now all but two of us are inactive, but almost twenty joined recently so there's a chance you can stir up some lurkers.

You can take Calc 2,3, diffyq, lin algebra at a community college. That's what I did since they weren't required for my econ degree and I got in where I wanted.

I wouldn't worry about Real Analysis, Numerical Analysis, etc.. for admissions.

Thank you! That's probably a cost-effective path, especially if I don't have to take the analysis courses.

This invite is invalid, would it be possible to reshare an invite?
