Position Description:

The Market Risk Department of this bulge-bracket firm provides independent market risk oversight across the firm’s trading and investing activities. The position is within the Market Risk Investment Management Risk Monitoring group in New York, with a focus on real estate, private equity and infrastructure investments.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and validate valuation models used for real estate, private equity and infrastructure assets. Understand and validate model inputs, assumptions and calculations.
  • Prepare written model review reports, including extensive sensitivity analyses.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting requirements and presentations.
  • Maintain investment data and aggregation of exposures for calculation of key risk metrics.
  • Participate in indentifying and assessing key risks in the businesses covered, including monitoring of concentrations and specific transaction risks.
Skills Required:

  • Excellent academic background, including undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Experience in risk, valuation or corporate finance, particularly in real estate, private equity or investment banking.
  • Extensive modeling skills, in particular for Discounted Cash Flow models and knowledge of valuation methodologies for real estate and private equity assets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Writing sample required.
  • Self-starter with the ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and implementation skills.
  • Desire to learn and prosper in a highly dynamic environment.
