Hello all,

Do extracurricular is of any significance in MFE application? If yes, what kind of?

Thanks!

That would be something you can use to show your leadership skills and other initiatives. For example, you can show that you have been leader of the Math/Science club, organized some business conferences for the students, run some business, etc.
Anything that can show you have an edge over the hundred of other similarly qualified applicants is a chance you should use.

As MFE is a technical degree, when looking to get accepted you should ask yourself this question: "would this resume be competitive at a reputable financial firm?". Ultimately that is the main goal of MFE programs - getting you job.

If your extracurricular activity is bird watching...I'm not saying leave it out but it won't make you more interesting. If you are an accomplished jazz guitar player absolutely put it in. Your YOU section doesn't have to bee 100% finance/programing/math.

Show you are interesting and someone who piques the curiosity of others.
