TA positions

Hello all,
I am an international student who will be in an MFE program in a few months.
I don't really understand how I can find a TA position. Must I contact directly professors?

The program director/administrators usually are the one who know the answer to this. Also, contact current MFE students in the program for their first hand experience on getting TA positions.
