Hi,

Most people get into the MFE hoping for a front office/ trading job/ hedge fund trading job. I was wondering whether their success depends on past employment in similar roles to a greater extent than how well you perform in the program itself?

To make it clear, here's an example: Suppose a hedge fund comes to recruit from a program, they would obviously prefer picking someone who might have had prior related experience. But how successful would other people, say somewho had been an engineer or non-quantitative finance professional prior to MFE be at landing the plum jobs? Would they be more likely to end up in risk or back office or any not so hot positions?

Wud be great if you can share your insights on this.

Thanks
