I think he means Joy was going out and interviewing...?

I understood that. I was keen on Lyosha's description "of playing ball" as observed by him of Joy. I'm acquainted with two possible interpretations of the phrase besides the literal meaning but both don't seem to fit.

I thought it was pretty self explanatory - meet people, leave good impressions, try to create opportunities for yourself and take them as they arise...

'Columbia MFE vs. Berkeley vs. CMU vs. Stanford' was merged into this thread.
Hi I just received MFE offer from Columbia for 15Fall.

Hope to know people's opinion on this program:
-How's its reputation in US?
-Is it suitable for ppl with working experience and want to change their career to asset management/structuring? (I have been working for around 2 years in a BB)
-How is it compared with other programs (Berkeley, CMU, Stanford)?

Thanks a lot!

I got the ad from MFE Columbia as well as MSCF in CMU New York campus. I am currently considering between this two.

I feel the career services in CMU is better than Columbia, and it will be easier to find a job, especially in S&T. But a MFE alumnus mentions Columbia actually has better connection with companies in New York.

Would love to hear all your opinion.
