Hi guys, I have also been offered in MMF. But I think I won't go for it. I have decided to join Waterloo's MQF, which seems more solid(1.5 year), exceptional reputation (first program of this kind in Canada + 100% placement + more flexible positions while MMF only focus on Risk or Model Vetting), and much cheaper. In addition, a few students in MQF can pursue quant PhD in some top universities such as Cornell, Stanford and Berkeley, but MMF cannot do it since knowledge taught in MMF is not deep enough. As you guys know, application procedure in MMF seems very cheap and only have some baby tests. I also thought I have ruined my interview but finally get it. I really do not understand the point of their interview/assessment process.

I guess the point of the interview was clearly not to test communication skills...

Toronto has ridiculous standards to get in. Looking at the tracker your gpa needs to be >3.8 to get into the program.
Also an mmf at u of t is designed for practitioners much like MFEs at other schools. If you want to do a phd it's not the sort of program you want to go to.

congratz bud, didn't expect them to interview in waterloo 2 days in a row

Congrats to you too. I actually graduated from waterloo in 2010. I've been working in Barbados since. My interview was done via phone (had no skype access during work hours)

Also got an admission in MMF!

Do you all have sth. like QQ or facebook that we can connect to each other? ^_^~~

Also got AD. I'm an international student from Peru. Do you have facebooks to connect? =) I've just added Meng Li =D

The deadline for my offer is april 2nd and I assume others have similar deadlines. So anybody waiting for AD expect 2nd round of admissions to be sent then.

When you receive an offer they state the deadline to accept it and pay the deposit. It is usually about 2 weeks from the day you receive an offer.
