Hi all, I made this thread for the people on the waitlist for this MSc, to keep each other up to date with recent decisions. Are there also alumni from this program that could offer a bit more information about the perspective of the waitlist?

ETH is mega. Know 2 people that are also going there for their MSc. Congrats!

Hi dear waitlisted friends (and anyone with updates),
I was placed on the waiting list last Friday. Quite surprised, but at the same time, it seems there isn’t much data available about this process. I did find a document from the 2021/22 cycle showing that 55 applicants were waitlisted, and 10 eventually received offers—out of approximately 750 total applicants. Let me know if you'd like the link.

Hello all!! I'm not sure if anyone has any insights into the UChicago Masters Financial Mathematics program offered, but I was recently waitlisted and plan on reaching out. In my application, I discussed my experience learning a new programming language, the "unorthodox" ways I learned about finance outside of coursework, and demonstrated how UC would help me get where I want.

I plan to send the admissions department a letter, discussing some of the projects l've been working on in my downtime to prepare for graduate programs while continuing to learn about the industry. I also plan on...

Thx! However, I have heard mixed stories about contacting the department as you walk a very thin line. Guess it is best to wait for the deadline to pass on people with an offer to accept or reject. Expect some offers to roll out to waitlisters after this

It could be cultural differences between US and UK programs. I am actually excited to see when offers start to come out and how people convert from waitlist.

My new hobby is checking my email, will update my status when I hear something. But people on the waitlist at Oxford can receive an offer as soon as next week or even in August. So it is a waiting game

Yeap. UK programs seem to have no deadline and people can apply as late as before Sept. this makes for a long period of anxiety.

@Jimbotronics do you have more recent stats? My experience is the FOI requests are routinely being denied now. Universities cite competitive interest to deny them.
