I am freshman at university with a strong interest in quant finance .

I am taking an elective that I am not enjoying at all. I had very different expectations for the course; it turned out to be not interesting to me, and I have no motivation to study for this course.

Will withdrawing and having a W on my transcript affect me if I apply to MFE/ quant finance graduate programs later on?

I would greatly appreciate your input on this matter. I REALLY want to withdraw from the course, but I don't want it to affect me negatively.
