Isn't it the common thing to waive the right to see the references? In this case how would you know exactly if the references is really strong?

I don't understand that. Old 420 verbal would give you at least 40%. So, even the estimates they provided us at the time of the test could be out of the final score range? :(

I thought we don't have a choice to report only the latest score. Don't all the scores for the last 5 years appear on the report card? Also it looks like ETS will report estimated new score along with every old score by default. Isn't it the case?

And everyone who managed to get 800 for quantitative part now will have 166 in their reports issued after November according to concordance table?

But it looks like getting the full Q170 is much harder now than scoring Q800 used to be. Now the range Q166-170 translates into old Q800.

No, 170 is the highest quant score. The thing is that it corresponds probably to 99% percentile, but old Q800 was only 94%. I wonder if everyone with Q800 had 94% in their old report which means that they would probably see Q166 in the new reports. I mean it is interesting if ETS reported...

BTW, I just read at another forum that old score Q800 was converted to Q166 (out of 170). :mad:

Andy, it looks like new GRE 170 score is not the same level as old 800. One can have 2-3 questions wrong and still get 800, but not 170. Do you think that programs will expect applicants to get 170 anyway?

I am 31 now, and just got my PhD a year ago. Since I've missed the deadlines to apply to 2011 MFE program, then I am looking at 2012 program.
