Hello,
I am 26 years old have an Undergraduate degree in Economics and a Post Graduate degree in Finance. I've worked in the financial sector before but I am currently unemployed for health reasons. I have an interest for Quantitative Finance and I am considering enrolling in a Master's degree in Financial Mathematics while I am recovering. As far as employment is concerned, the programme is great, with every past student getting a job after completion.
The programme includes courses on the following topics (quite standard as far as I know): Measure Theory, Optimization, Real Analysis, Exotic Options, Credit and Market Risk, Partial Differential Equations, Stochastic Calculus, Econometrics of Financial Markets, Models of the Term Structure of Interest Rates, Numerical Methods, etc
However, I do have the concern that the subject of Master's of this kind is too narrow. For example, if in the future the financial sector doesn't hire as much, would the topics covered in such a programme useful for other work areas? Please be free to give your opinions.
Thank you very much
