I know it is not a quant fin program. Yet I'm still trying to get into front desk position in IB. What should I do to make my grad study more competitive for a career in trading or things like that?

I've already done some research on the courses I could choose. Here is a selection of courses:
Foundamental algorithms(which is mandatory), Database system, Data communication(also mandatory), Scientific computing, Computing in finance(Free electives in CS department and Math dept.); Time series, Applied stochastic, Data mining, Statisitcs, Trading strategies(Stern courses).

Any advice? Thank you guys! If you are a current student or an alumni, would you please share some info on the placement of this program?

I don't think it's a very strong program... I'd rather go for the scientific computing option.
