Hi all,

I have been accepted to the MSc Mathematical Finance program at the University of Manchester. I've looked through several forums but haven’t found detailed or recent insights about it.

If anyone here is currently enrolled or has graduated from this program, could you please share your experience?
  • How is the program overall in terms of content, structure, and difficulty?
  • Are the professors and staff well-connected with the quant/hedge fund industry?
  • How are the career opportunities post-graduation, especially for roles in quant finance or hedge funds?
Any feedback—positive or critical—would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey @ijeezi
When did you get your admission to the program? Can you add the timeline to the tracker please?
I have added the basic stats for the program to QuantNet list and a quick look at their published career data seems to indicate that they have few placement into hedge fund or quant roles.
They also have a Quant Finance program under the AMBS which is less mathematical and may be more career focused.

Take a look at where some of our graduates work:
  • Safecap Investments Limited
  • Moody's Analytics
  • Baker Tilly Cyprus
  • Lloyds Bank
Below are some of the roles that our graduates have gone on to do:
  • Operational Risk Manager
  • Reassurance Analyst
  • Software Engineer
  • Audit Associate
