What is the best non-MFE masters in the UK for quantitative research/analyst positions. My list would look something like:

1) MSc Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing @ Oxford
2) MMath Mathematics (Part III) @ Cambridge
3) MSc Mathematical and Theoretical Physics @ Oxford
4) MSc Statistics @ Imperial
5) Computational Applied Mathematics @ Edinburgh
6) MPhil Scientific Computing @ Cambridge

This is mainly based on the course content, name brand of the university and the likelihood of getting a job post graduation.

Probably the part III is the best well-known. I have no first hand knowledge of the program, just from what people told me about its reputation.
I’m strongly considering applying to part III. Although my concern is that it’s very theory based and doesn’t involve much coding/applied work. At the moment my plan is to try prepare for interviews before going for an applied maths masters in September 2026 as an MFE is considerably out of budget.
