Boston MSMFT Boston University Mathematical Finance PhD

I think their PhD in Finance is relatively new, it's a program hosted by their business school and it includes many courses in economics and asset pricing. I think the goal of this PhD is to place people in academia. If I'm not mistaken, BU economics program has good placements, so It would seem right that their PhD in Finance be able to place students in great departments too, but that's just pure speculation at this point.

actually, my research interest is AI/ machine learning in Finance, not financial economics.

then this program may not be appropriate for you.
you might to look at schools with great machine learning and mathematical finance programs.
On top of my head I know IIT's Finance PhD program (business school) has a faculty there who focuses on what you're looking for: Matthew Dixon | IIT Stuart School of Business | Illinois Institute of Technology

thanks for sharing.
I just checked on their website. It seems that they only offer Ph.D. in Management Science, Finance Concentration.

so the phd in management science is their phd in finance, if you look at the content it's straight up a phd in finance.
Now if you're not looking for a career in academic finance, but one in academic mathematics and/or computer science, then you should look up their applied mathematics department where you can do a thesis in mathematical finance, machine learning etc... that's more readily available in the US, so I don't think IIT is necessarily the best fit for you.
I specifically linked you matthew dixon because he's one of the people I know who would allow you to be inside a business school (important in my books).

Hi every one, do you know how many students are accepted to PhD program every year?
