Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice as to whether I would need more education to get that first job as a quant.
Here's my situation. I have a BS in Comp Sci with a Minor in Math. So I've had C++, Java, calc 1-3, differential equations, and linear algebra, but not stochastic calc. I'm currently doing an MBA from a 2nd tier school (got a full ride) with a concentration in finance. I've taken econometrics, management accounting, capital markets, corporate finance, etc.
I'm planning to do the entrepreneur thing and launch a software product within the next few months. I'm obviously hoping my company will work out, but nothing is certain. In any case, I'm really interested in quant finance, so I'm considering it as a backup plan. Would I need to get something like an MSCF or MFE to get a job? I'm fairly sure I could get accepted (GRE 1500, GMAT 750), but I'd rather not sink any more of my energy into education if I don't have to.
Thanks for your input.
