QR at a tier 1 BB working under a desk quant vs quant trading at a reputable prop trading firm. Most threads I've read make it sound like wherever you go after graduation is where you will spend your entire career. Is this true? What are the differences in career paths by choosing one role over the other?

if the prop firm is reputable definitely go for it. the only time you'd go for the BB instead is if it's some sketchy prop place
