can i study mfe?

I am currently doing electronics and communication engineering in India. I am very much interested in doing MFE program after engineering. I like maths and i am going to take up gre this year. Will I be eligible for this program? What else should i know before joining? Given my background will i be able to pursue a career in finance? Is this a bad decision? Is there anything else i can do increase my chances of getting admission?
