Hello everyone,
I am exploring a career transition into Quantitative Finance and would love your advice. Here is my background:
🎓 Education:
B.Tech in Production & Industrial Engineering, IIT Delhi
Master’s in Operational Research, University of Delhi
Research scholar (Supply Chain & Operations Research)
💻 Skills: Python, C++, SAS, SPSS, MySQL, Machine Learning, Algorithmic Trading
📊 Experience:
  • 12+ years teaching mathematics (entrance exam preparation)
  • Educational consulting
  • Algorithmic & options trading (Indian markets)
🎯 Goal: Transition into a Quantitative Analyst role, preferably in the US/Europe (buy side, sell side, or research).
I would appreciate your guidance on:
  1. The best pathways for someone with my profile to break into quant roles.
  2. Whether pursuing certifications (CQF, CFA, FRM) or a PhD would add significant value.
  3. Networking strategies and forums/companies where I should apply.
  4. How to best position my teaching + research + trading experience when applying
Any suggestions, experiences, or resources would mean a lot 🙏
Thank you in advance!
