I am thinking of applying for MS in FE to start in Sept 2010. I have pretty much 1.5 yrs before starting my studies.. I can probably start working toward 1-2 certifications.

Given my case (EE bachelor degree), which certifications would make the most sense?

what do you have in mind when you ask for "certifications"? Could you give an example?

CFA takes a few years until you are chartered.
FRM, PRMIA may be a waste of time and money unless you are 100% sure you do want to work in the area of risk. Even then, it may not help much.
In my experience, certificates rarely make or break an application to MFE programs. They provide little utility for MFE study.
Your best bet would be to go the traditional pre-MFE prep route that are suggested in several recent threads around here.

i just got a Math & Physics degree...and hope to get in a Ms program next year, what exams/certifications do I need?
