Hello Everyone,
This is my first post. I wanted to get some feedback on a question. I was recently accepted to the Chicago program. I am thinking about applying to the Columbia/Math program. I wanted to know how other people compare them. By my estimation...
- the Chicago program is more organized and may even teach slightly more advanced (or at least more focused) material whereas the Columbia program seems more 'plugged' into the quantitative finance industry.
- Chicago is an MS and Columbia is an MA
- Chicago formally addressees programing more than Columbia
- Columbia has more flexibility with electives and access to financial engineering courses
- Columbia is also ranked more highly on quant net (presumably due most to the 'plugged' in quality although I am not sure)
In any case, I wanted to get some additional insights and opinions. I imagine I have overlooked somethings and would like to hear other people thoughts. Thanks.
