Hello everyone,

I just completed mechanical engineering from India. My aim is to get into top FE program in 2-3 years. From past 2 years i am trading by doing basic technical analysis and as i find this stuff really interesting i was thinking of doing CMT certification. My question is -
Does this knowledge can help me in Algo trading? I know programming is a very important part and so i am learning it but only because of a requirement not because i like it!
So what is more important programming skills or trading experience and knowledge if we want to go into algo trading in future?

I will really appreciate if any CMT or algo trader can advice me.
Thank You

No certification is going to help you. Learn programming, stats, data analysis.
I don't know there is a future for someone who does not like programming. How are you going to code your strategy and back test it? And then continuously develop new strategies, modify it?
