Duffie C++ course

Gus just posted the samething DATASIM NYC COURSE on C++ Instrument Pricing - QuantNetwork - Financial Engineering Forum
From the look of it, if you don't have some prior background in C++ or other programming language, you won't get much out of this intense teaching marathon.

From that thread,
Who Should Attend
This course has been developed for financial professionals who design and implement pricing and hedging models in C++ and Excel

If you are not financial professional, then I'd say save the money and learn other ways.

I have some C++ and general programming experience nothing at a professional developer level apart from some Excel VBA. Have opted to buy two of Duffies books and work my way through these, and save some cash.

Cheers, Sam.

Hi Sam,
By the way, the name is Duffy, Daniel J. Duffy

It's very like Darrell Duffie =D>

A useful shorthand: I am "DJD" and uncle Darrell is "JDD".

I would not purchase the 2004 C++ book just yet until basic C++ has been mastered. The 2006 book is an introduction but some experience of OO and C would be beneficial.
