Hi all,
I was hoping you might be able to offer a bit of advice.
I'm currently in my final year of university in London, studying computer science. We have a year long course related project which is due at the end of the year. I know how important these types of projects are, so I want to make sure I'm taking on the right one. I'm looking at doing a MSc in Financial Computing after I graduate, hopefully at a school like Imperial or UCL. Being able to show them a quality, year long solo project relevant to the post grad degree I'm applying for would greatly help my chances of acceptance.
So my question is: what kind of project would you recommend for me? I'm currently taking classes like Neural Networks (machine learning), Data Mining, and Natural Language Processing. I'm a solid coder (in Java especially). I have found, however, that maths come much easier to me (and are more enjoyable to work on) than software development.
Thank you for any input you might have.
Eric
