Financial programmer vs quant developer

Financial programmer = programmers who work at financial institutions. Programmer is a broad term so it covers anyone who does any kind of coding.
Quant developer is a bit more specific. It used to refer to developers/programmers who work on models that are used by banks, etc but nowadays, that term is used loosely and may cover "financial programmer" as well ;)

Start off with the QuantNet guide and go down the list of the books for more specifics.
