Just wondering what are people's thoughts on unemployment gap vs. role-switching.

I used to work as a front-office quant but cuts came through recently and now I'm in a position of uncertainty. Do I hunker down and wait for a quant position to be available and possibly have a gap in resume or do I look at things like risk management etc? My concern is that once you get into risk management, it might be hard to transition back...

Been there before. Best time to find another job is while you are still employed.
Ideally, you can use this time to find a similarly comparable job. But it may be just wishful thinking. I don't know if it's wise to look down on risk management jobs or chase after the few remaining FO jobs.

Plan B?
