GRE- raw vs. scaled official scores?

Hi,

I just did GRE today and I'm so disappointed with my quant results. The raw score showed 162 and i was aiming for much higher. It was more difficult than expected though. Do you think scaled official results could be any better?
I was aiming for top schools but I don't know anymore since my gre result isn't as I expected it to be.


Any advice?

You can always retake the test.

I've never heard of the "official results" coming out differently than the "unofficial ones"... plan on retaking it.

Did you do prep? Even if the questions are easy it is as much about practicing for the test as it is about knowing how to do math.

I got a flu 2 days before the exam. So I was really sick while taking it. So timing was the biggest issues, but the schools wont know/care about that. I'm thinking of retaking it, but I'm just scared I would be late with applications in that case.
