Hello, I'd like to start by saying I don't have a lick of knowledge in finance besides Akuna Options 101. My undergrad is in statistics from NJIT and I'm planning to join University of Chicago's Financial Math program this fall.

Since I have no finance related experience/finance related internships, that will be a huge gap on my resume that I'm not sure how to patch.
I'm not sure what finance related projects to put on my resume, so I'd appreciate if someone gave me advice on what to do. Zero clue on where to start. I'm also thinking of taking CFA level 1, would it be worth it? Given my lack of computational background, I will also take the Quantnet C++ course.

I just want to maximize my chance of getting placed, whether my concentration is in Financial Computing, Options and Derivatives, Trading, or Risk Management. Don't care too much about the pay. So, which concentration should I pick given this and my background in statistics? I would genuinely appreciate all of the advice I can get. Thank you!
