Hey everyone!

I am a student in my last year of Economics BA studies. I really liked it. The program was highly mathemathic, and we also learned quite a bit of finance and programming (Matlab, VBA, Statistical Languages).

However, I generally liked the Econometrics, Mathemathics,Finance and Programming courses (so the quantitative part) more so I thought that instead of going to an Economics Masters, and then a Phd, I would pursue a career in quantitative finance, since i really enjoy building algo trading models, and building up and testing economic theories on the stock market. I am actually building up a Model as my thesis work.

One day, I would be happy to become a Hedge Fund Manager, but that goal is a long way down the road.
Now, I have to choose a Masters Programme.

What do you think about the following?

University of Amsterdam offers a Double Degree program in Financial Econometrics with Stochastics and Financial Mathemathics.

I could get this degree for 2000 EUR, and it seems to me that it provides a lot of knowledge.

Go for it. Just don't apply to the exorbitantly priced US programs, many of whose degrees are not worth the paper they're printed on.

Also, it's not clear how long the global financial structure will remain standing and to me at least it looks decidedly wobbly.
