Is my profile good enough for top programs (Princeton, Baruch, Berkeley, Columbia...)?

Just finished sophomore year at McGill in Math and CS major.
GPA hs been kinda mid, around 3.7cgpa with a bunch of A's and the occasional C+/B-. I've been a varsity athlete these past two years but am stopping so hopefully gpa increases next 2 years.
Currently have:

- big quant hackathon win
- small crypto fund quant internship part-time(maybe plus research paper from it)
- Currently at Big 5 Bank in Canada for S&T on FI derivatives desk sophomore summer
- Probably (95% sure, just had 2 superdays that went well) will go to another big 5 or stay at same bank for front office role junior(2026) summer, probably try to get to a more quanty desk, maybe an algo trading or r and d or something similar.

I'm planning on trying to increase my grades without extra time commitment from sports and definitely will try to get some research experience in there as well.
Will also try GRE in a year or so, should be able to get a good score(167+) with some practise
Debating trying to apply right after uni (in which case grades will only be first 3 years so worse gpa) or maybe do a year or two of work before applying.

Do you think I'm competitive for the top programs that would make it worth going to the US for? Should I try to apply for right after school or wait for potentially better grades and more work experience?

If you can get a few years of experience out of undergraduate, take it. It will make your profile for quant master programs stronger. You will become more marketable and have a clearer idea of what you need out of a program.
