I am planning on pursuing my masters in Financial Engineering in the Fall, and I need some guidance into preparing myself for recruitment.
I have had experience using mainly just Python and some SQL, but I have never fully grasped all the details on syntax and such. I have relied heavily on LLMs to generate the code for projects in my courses and internships to get the job done well.
However, it seems like I might need a more foundational understanding for coding within the realm of quantitative finance during the actual interviewing process and on the job. I don't have a specific role in mind just yet, but I will say it is likely not a quantitative trader for some big name HFT/Prop shop.
Other than the course offered here, are there any free or much cheaper resources online I can use to build a solid foundation over the next 3-4 months (particularly in Python + SQL)? Any guidance is appreciated.
