Hi All - the title says it all.

I am a recent graduate of a Master's Program from a non-target NYC school. I have a strong econometrics background, solid math background (though the closest we ever got to stochastic calc was discussing ito's lemma for one class), and somewhere between beginner and intermediate coding skills in both R and Python. I really enjoy the work of research and want to try and make a career out of it.

While asset pricing/looking for arbitrage strategies seems super exciting to me - I have limited capabilities outside of the table of contents of 'ISLR' and am currently a better fit for roles in macro research. However, quant research seems so much more exciting and pays more than standard macro themed research.

I wanted to know what steps I should take to bolster my resume to apply for quantitative research roles. I'm open to textbook/project suggestions really anything that I can do without dropping another few thousand dollars on an additional degree. If anyone has any clarifying questions I'd be happy to answer them!
