Hi guys, I think my last post wasn't clear enough about this Master's degree online in university of york.
I think this is a good opportunity for people who work full time in a demanding jobs, but I'd like to know what do you guys think. University of York is one of top 100 universities in the world.

Thanks

Brzezniak and Zastawniak are in the math fin department and I can vouch for their excellent books on finance and probability. But there seems to be no detailed course description for their MSc. The program is reasonably priced (12,000 pounds for the whole MSc). Goes without saying the possibility of mingling with industry professionals won't be possible in an online program. Some unanswered questions about the strength of the program as well.

The problem with York is that although it's a highly rated university according to newspapers, it does really poorly in getting people into FO. I don't see that doing the degree will help you much.

I think online program are a no-no unless you're very familiar with the underlying concepts (stochastic calculus, probability theory, analysis, etc).
