Hi all,

I hold a BS in Finance with superior GPA and a few years work experience.

The problem is that I never took practically all math courses required by all MFE programs. My goal is to take these classes before my application to an MFE program in 2017.

I've found most of the courses online:

1. Berkeley Extended Learning:
Calculus 1 and 2

2. UIUC Netmath:
Linear Algebra
Differential Equations

Does anyone have experience with these courses?

Also, ideas of where I can take Partial Differentiation and Numerical Analysis?

Thanks!

don't learn mathematics online.
attend courses at your local university.
also the MFE programs will want proof that you seriously learned these topics.
If you are not willing to allocate the time required to take these courses, just do a MFin instead of a MFE.

Hi tehraio, thanks for your reply.

I'm actually more than willing to commit time, as I quit my old job (hedge fund accountant) to pursue these prerequisites!

I just figured they were more "brand names" than what my local college can offer. I guess it doesn't really matter? I would be doing these online courses full time, though, through 2016.

Also I feel like a very confident self-learner as I've just passed cfa level 1.

Any thoughts well appreciated.
